William “Bill” Lester Norman, 71 years old, died after a long illness at Kindred Hospital, Dover, N.J., on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Born to Lester and Ida Norman in Franklin, N.J., he had lived in Franklin, NJ before moving to Greenville, NY in 1987.

Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and then worked as a self employed equipment operator specializing in excavation. He would routinely spend his evenings in his garage listening to his radio and watching his grandchildren ride the John Deere Gator around the farm which he would also do daily. He would enjoy reminiscing about raising chickens and birds with his father and also was an accomplished gardener, ordering new and rare seeds from catalogs to grow. He was a true Homesteader as he could build, fix and grow anything. He was best remembered as one of the “Good Ole Boys” of the area being well known and loved by many.
