Westys Gymnastics hosted an amazing USAIGC and GAP meet, their third annual Crystal Springs Frozen Invitational, the weekend of Dec. 8-10.

Westys Copper Team competed for the first time at the Frozen Invitational and all team members earned all around scores high enough to qualify them for State Championships in May.

Hannah Potzer, age 7 earned herself 1st place in her age division on Vault with an 8.7, Bars with a 9.0, and Balance Beam with an 8.1, as well as First Place All Around with a score of 33.90.

Lila Ramieri, age 8 received fourth place in her age division on Bars with an 8.6 and Floor with an 8.0, She also earned herself Fourth Place All Around in her division with a score of 31.95.

Madelyn Aspelund, age 8 earned herself fifth place on both Bars scoring an 8.55 and Floor scoring a 7.3.

Leah Glading age 9, scored an 8.5 on Vault and an 8.95 on Bars earning her Second place on both events, as well as third place on Floor with an 8.2.

Brielle Cotto, age 7 placed third in her division on Vault with a score of 8.55 and Bars with an 8.6, she also placed Third in the All Around with a score of 32.10.

Alana Ciccone, age 8 earned first place on vault in her age division scoring an 8.9, and placed third All Around in her division with a 32.05 score.

All Westys Copper Team members put great scores and together they earned themselves the Second Place Copper Team Award.

Team Westys Silver and Gold Level gymnasts also showed great scores in the first meet of the season.

Silver Level Gymnasts Chelsea Smith, age 9 earned first place on Bars and Balance Beam in her age division both with a score of 8.3. Chelsea also Placed First in the All Around with a score of 33.20. Hailey Jenkins, age 7, placed first on Bars with an 8.9 and Floor with an 8.3 in her division as well as Second Place All Around with a 31.85.

Adrianna Barone, age 13 scored an 8.9 on Balance Beam earning her second place in her age group, as well as an 8.85 on Vault earning her fourth place, and an All Around score of 33.65 placing her fifth in her age division.

Samantha Copley, age 12, took first place on vault in her division with a 9.3 score, and took fourth place All Around with a 33.9. Together, they earned the Second Place Silver Team Award.

Gold Level Gymnasts Olivia Fisher placed first in her age group on Vault with an 8.1 and on Balance Beam with an 8.05, and Lexi Ingoglia earn the top spot on Bars scoring an 8.0, and Floor scoring an 8.5, as well as First Place All Around in her division with a 31.45. Together these gymnasts earned the First Place Gold Team Award.

This team is getting ready to achieved titles once again. These gymnasts are extremely driven and work very hard to achieve the goals that they set.

This weekend Westys hosted gymnasts from Long Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Chenago NY,as well as several gyms from all over New Jersey. These participants of the Frozen Invitational were able to not just compete but were also able to create friendships by having s’mores by the fire, swimming and many other activities offered that weekend. Minerals at Crystal Springs went out of there way for the gymnast and their families to have a great time.

Along with high competitive gymnastics, Westys also held their holiday gym show at the Frozen Invitational, and the young gymnasts stole the audience’s hearts. The participants ages ranged from 2 to 12, they showed of all there skills they have been working on in class to a great group of enthusiastic parents and friends.

Westys PowerTeam went out for their first performance of the season as well, at the gym show, where they showed off their hard work on the tumbling and floor routines. These gymnasts have been working to achieve all there requirements and are ready to kick off competition season.

And last but certainly not least, the third event of the weekend was a GAP meet at the Frozen Invitational. GAP stands for gymnastic athletic program, it allows all gymnasts know matter what age or skill level to perform their routines and always improve there all-around score, competing against themselves to strive to be better each meet, rather than competing against one another. Westys had 25 of there GAP gymnasts compete along with 45 other gymnasts from Chenango, Gymnastics Inc, Flyers’, and Shieks Gymnastics Teams.
